Nationals’ offense stays on skids on shutout to Rangers

ARLINGTON, Tex. — Before his final at-bat of the Washington Nationals’ 6-0 loss to the Texas Rangers on Thursday afternoon, Eddie Rosario took two swings and tapped the toe of each yellow cleat. He brushed around the dirt in the batter’s box at Globe Life Field. He stuck to his routine, the one that he has used to extricate himself from previous slumps. As he said this week, there was hope that the turn of the calendar would bring different results.
